WHY SDA?​

 

The main objective of SDA is to provide driven soccer players with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and technical ability of the game within the game. This develops players who can understand and execute effectively on and off the ball under pressure at game speed. SDA has a record of proven success with numerous Premier level and state, regional and national ODP players currently training in the academy and former players competing at Division I universities with soccer scholarships. 

 

My experiences as a player, trainer, and an educator at the highest levels has allowed me to take what is efficient and combine it with philosophies from such nations as England, Brazil and the Netherlands. With these methods, SDA develops a player's technical, tactical, physical, mental and emotional game to a higher level that they never thought was attainable.

Six-Step Program

We have developed a unique Six-Step Program which are the building blocks of the game. Doing everything at game speed with a purpose is an SDA trademark!
 

1. BALL MANIPULATION (RHYTHM AND SUPPLENESS)

  • Stationary Ball Manipulation

  • Ball Manipulation with Movement


2. BALL MASTERY (FUNCTIONAL)

  • Changing Directions

  • Pivots       

  • Twist-Off Moves

  • Attacking Dribbling 

  • Combinations

3. PASSING AND RECEIVING

  • Proper technique

  • Weight of pass and first touch

4. DYNAMIC MOVEMENTS AND METHODS ON AND OFF THE BALL 

  • Being able to think two and three plays ahead of your opponent


5. SPEED TRAINING - S.A.Q.

  • Plyometrics – Exercises that Develop Explosive Power/Injury Prevention (Plyometric Boxes)

  • Resistance Training (Parachutes) – Exercises that cause the muscles to contract against an external resistance to increase strength, tone, mass and/or endurance

  • Core Strength Training - Exercises to develop functional fitness to avoid soccer injuries and to improve overall performance

  • Aerobic/ Anaerobic/ Fast-Twitch Training – Exercises that improve overall endurance, agility, explosiveness, balance and power

 
6. CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION

  • The gift of being able to manipulate the ball so the opposition are off balance
